Reset VM

A virtualized environment, or virtual machine, behaves identically to a physical machine but is implemented via software and functions independently from the host operating system on which it runs.

Here is how to reset virtual machine

For example, a user can virtualize Windows XP while running Windows 7 without the former affecting the latter. Virtualization can allow businesses to perform tasks in different operating systems without spending money on additional infrastructure. Unfortunately, virtual operating systems are just as susceptible to problems as physical operating systems – if a virtual machine hangs or crashes while running Virtual PC, you can quickly reset, or reboot, the machine via the application menu.

Reset virtaul machine step-by-step:

  1. Press the right "Alt" key to recapture the mouse from the virtual machine.

  2. Select "Action" from the menu bar. Click "Reset."

  3. Click "Reset" again when the message "Are You Sure You Want to Reset This Virtual Machine?" appears on-screen to reboot the Virtual PC image.
